BILINGUAL INFANT SCHOOL
Educational project
San Jorge School aspires to be a centre of excellence in providing an innovative, non-denominational, preschool education. We seek to stimulate the creative development of capacities, skills and abilities of our children, implementing an active bilingualism.
Our creative teaching methods taught in a friendly and entertaining environment contribute to consolidating the child’s first language and to encourage the active use of both the English and Spanish language.
The happiness and wellbeing of the child are central to our educational project. We teach social values and solidarity in trusting and loving surroundings aimed at promoting the self-esteem and socialization of our children.
For all these reasons San Jorge School offers a conceptually different educational approach in contrast to other infant schools in Madrid.
Metodology
Our approach is based on two main principles.
Teaching methods, our teachers constantly strive to incorporate innovative and new methods that take into account the progress of both the class and the individual child.
Emotional development, the involvement of all school staff in ensuring a supportive and a loving environment to each child as a means to encourage their self-esteem.
Using play as a central element to stimulate learning, we employ a variety of teaching strategies:
· Early stimulation.
· Creative development.
· Language immersion.
· Learning to interact.
· Instilling values.
· Planning of school days.
· Family involvement.
Objectives
To create a pleasant, safe and stimulating environment so that the child’s first school experience is a positive and unforgettable one.
To stimulate the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of the child through the use of games and innovative methods.
To encourage the child’s independence by teaching them good habits in hygiene and health.
To promote the values of respect, solidarity and responsibility through group activities.
To stimulate an active bilingualism (English-Spanish) so that our students can alternate both languages naturally.
