San Jorge Infant School aims to offer an all-round high quality. Non-denominational bilingual (English – Spanish) education for children between the ages of 0-6 years of age.

Currently San Jorge Infant School has two centres authorised by the Ministry of Education of the Comunidad de Madrid. Both centres are owned and run by the British Play School Society, a business specialised in the creation and management of educational centres.

The Centres are located in the areas of Arturo Soria – General Aranaz and Pinar de Chamartin.



OUR FACILITIES

San Jorge has excellent facilities in both of its centres. The installations are among the most modern in the city. Large and comfortable classrooms, modern school equipment, natural lighting and ventilation in all its areas, together with a contemporary decoration, all contribute to creating an ideal secure, and happy setting in which the children can develop their full potential.

The recommendations established by the prevailing legislation regarding safety procedures have been rigorously followed in the adaptation and design of both schools, thus guaranteeing at all times the care and safety of the pupils.

In total, our centres have authorisation for 195 students.

The General Aranaz Centre has 7 classrooms, with a capacity for 112 children. Four of these classrooms are for children between the ages of 0 and 3 (First Cycle) and the other three are for use of children between the ages of 4 and 6 (second Cycle). The class distribution is as follows:

• 1 classroom for children between 0 to 12 months: 8 places.
• 1 classroom for children between the ages of 1 and 2: 4 places.
• 2 classrooms for children between the ages of 2 and 3: 40 places.
• 3 classrooms for children between the ages of 4 and 6: 50 places

Our Pinar de Chamartin Centre is specialised in nursery services for children between the ages of 0 and 3. Its 6 comfortable classrooms have a capacity for 84 first cycle children. The distribution of classrooms is as follows:

• 2 classrooms for children between 0 and 12 months: 16 places.
• 2 classrooms for children between the ages of 1 and 2: 28 places.
• 2 classrooms for children between the ages of 2 and 3: 40 places.


Additionally, both centres have a motor skill activity room and a multiple-use classroom, equipped with materials and facilities to develop music, dance and theatre skills. These spaces are also equipped with cinema projection technology and modern sound systems.

Both centres have independent dining facilities, a separate kitchen area for the preparation of food and spacious outdoor play areas, equipped with non-slip flooring and didactic playground materials and games.

The Arturo Soria – General Aranaz modular classroom facilities enable the use of a playroom with a surface area of 120 m2 where extracurricular sport and recreational activities are carried out.

Both centres are fully equipped with modern school equipment, audiovisual systems and carefully designed ergonomic furniture that provide a pleasant, attractive environment conducive to learning. In the near future, the Arturo Soria Centre will have a computer room with internet access for use by children aged 4 to 6.

The two centres also have a complete climatisation system that allows us to maintain our installations at a constant temperature of 23º to 25º C, depending on climatic conditions.
